Webtoons

This is a place listing some of the webtoons I regularly keep up with or have enjoyed to completion. Click the images to go to the respective webtoons.

If I were better I would organize these into categories (mine, not Webtoons') but I am not better... right now. There's no particular order, though.

It Rains on Precious Days

A young woman in Tokyo falls for an older man with a teenage son and a late wife. The age gap is significant and the tenseness and sadness that is sometimes present, especially with the beautiful art style, kind of steals my breath away sometimes. I don't get the feeling it's going to end on a sad note, though.

Serena

A tale of wealth and a loveless marriage of convenience that lately seems not so... loveless? I really like Serena's character - coddled from birth but rising to a challenge in the here and now.

Cry, Or Better Yet, Beg

A beautifully painted webtoon by an author I've read before with Winter Woods. Winter Woods was really good and got kind of fucked up, and I'm guessing by the title that this one won't pull any punches, either. It's still early at time of writing this but I can already sense the darkness encroaching. :)

Like Wind on a Dry Branch

As far as I know, this one was a web novel before it was a webtoon, like so many others. It's a fantasy romance with magical stuff going on that threatens to throw everything into chaos. I really like Rieta, especially as she slowly opens up to Killian.

Obsidian Bride

Fantasy setting. A young woman in a shitty marriage situation is suddenly whisked away into an environment where high nobles' identities are concealed by magic as they dally with one another in an attempt to find true love. The art is absolutely gorgeous and the plot seems interesting so far. It's new as of posting this, but I have high hopes.

Lore Olympus

A retelling of the Hades and Persephone myths. I love the style. I'm not really up on my ancient myth lore, so a lot of it flies over my head, but it's still very enjoyable. CW for sexual assault (there's a CW in every chapter that deals with it and its fallout, but I just want to be clear).

Your Throne

Oh man. This one has gone places. It's bloody and dramatic and the art is stunning. Just give it a shot if that sounds interesting.

That Which Flows By

A young woman is made to become a tea-server to a ruthless man who can only drink non-clear water. I think this one is turning into a romance? I'd certainly like to see that happen.

My Giant Nerd Boyfriend

I love this couple and relate to them deeply. Entries are short and very funny, but also sometimes very sad as life happens. I started from the beginning a while ago and I'm glad I did.

I'm the Queen in this Life

The Etruscan queen (I think?) is betrayed by her husband, slain, and suddenly sent back in time to her 17 year old self. This affords her the chance to make things right and prevent her own death. It's funny watching a teenager make the political manueverings of an adult while surrounded by assholes.

Little Starling

Quoth the description: "A slow burner set around 1900. Alot of feels, alot of AU exploration." A young, poor man wants to be an opera singer, and ostensibly the gap between him and a famous opera singer will close and turn into a situation - at time of writing that hasn't happened yet, it's still building up the world and the foundations of the plot.

The Secrets of Soulford

"This story is about two petty, self-absorbed idiots who fall in love, overcome their personal faults, and together confront their generational traumas. You're in for a slow burn with a wealth of face-palming along the way."

Les Normaux

There's a supernatural world that lives casually out in the open. There's a hot vampire and a burgeoning mage and they're smitten. It's gay and it's good.
